BULKEX- the conference and trade show for the bulk materials handling industry – is “one of the most important things” the Materials Handling Engineers Association (MHEA) does, according to MHEA Executive Committee Member, James Bullock. “Our objective with BULKEX is to help the industry, help energise it, and create a buzz by establishing a forum for sharing ideas, sharing best practice and knowledge, and stimulating debate,” Bullock continued. BULKEX is the annual conference of the MHEA and includes a line up of technical presentations, as well as exhibitors from the bulk materials handling sector. The event is attended by professionals from the bulk materials and allied sectors, such as ports, cement, energy, transport, and steel. This year’s show takes place at Eastwood Hall in Nottingham, UK, between 18 and 29 October. “At the conference, we explore new sectors as new industries emerge. We can’t control the economy and the decline of coal and steel, but we can reflect the changes by shifting focus and evolving, for example to embrace biomass and renewables,” Bullock concluded. “BULKEX is where people from across the bulk materials and other industries gather together in one place.
